A fast, graceful feather palm with a smooth grey trunk and a full arching crown. Gives a genuinely tropical effect quickly, which is exactly why it is planted so widely along warm coastlines.

Blooming season: Year-round in warm climates
Flower colour: Cream
How to care: Full sun in well-drained, slightly acidic soil, and it genuinely needs feeding: queen palms show manganese and potassium deficiency readily on limey Lebanese soils, appearing as frizzled or spotted new fronds. Use a palm-specific fertiliser. Water regularly, as it is less drought tolerant than fan palms. Protect from frost and remove spent fronds cleanly.
