A few of the gardens, terraces, and meadows we've shaped in recent seasons each one rooted in its place, its people, and its time.

Hudson Valley Meadow Restoration

June 15, 2024
Rhinebeck, NY

A twelve-acre former pasture returned to native meadow over three growing seasons. Bluestem, milkweed, and goldenrod now sustain a measurable rebound in pollinator activity, with a winding mown path threading the property's two stone outcroppings.

Brooklyn Townhouse Courtyard

September 22, 2023
Cobble Hill, Brooklyn

An overlooked rear yard transformed into a layered shade garden. Bluestone paving, custom corten planters, and a small water feature anchor a planting palette of ferns, hellebores, and Japanese forest grass.

Catskills Stone Terrace

May 8, 2023
Phoenicia, NY

Hand-set fieldstone terraces stepping down a steep slope toward the creek. Built dry — no mortar — using stone harvested on-site during excavation, with thyme and sedum allowed to colonize the joints.

Litchfield Pollinator Garden

April 30, 2024
Litchfield, CT

A two-acre pollinator corridor designed to bloom continuously from April through October. Over forty native species, an insect hotel, and a small spring-fed pond support resident bumblebees, monarchs, and migrating songbirds.

Connecticut Shoreline Natives

July 19, 2022
Old Lyme, CT

Salt-tolerant native planting along an exposed coastal property. Beach plum, bayberry, and switchgrass stabilize the dune; an informal path of weathered granite leads from the house to a quiet sitting alcove overlooking the Sound.

Westchester Estate Master Plan

October 4, 2024
Bedford, NY

A multi-phase reimagining of a four-acre estate: formal entry court, naturalistic perennial borders, a cutting garden, and an espaliered orchard. Designed and installed across four seasons in close collaboration with the owners.

We work closely with a small number of clients each season. If your land could use thoughtful attention, we'd love to hear about it.
