Livistona chinensis

Broad, deeply divided fan leaves with elegantly drooping tips, giving a softer and more tropical effect than the stiffer Washingtonia palms. Good in a courtyard or as a large container specimen.

Blooming season: Spring to summer
Flower colour: Cream
How to care: Full sun to partial shade, with young plants preferring some shade, in well-drained soil kept moderately moist. Moderately drought tolerant once established but looks far better with regular water. Protect from hard frost. Remove spent fronds as they brown. Slow growing, so it stays in scale for a long time.
