How to care

Full sun in well-drained soil. Very drought tolerant once established and fast growing to a substantial size, so allow room. The leaf edges are genuinely sharp and will cut skin, so site it away from paths and wear long sleeves and heavy gloves when working on it. Cut the whole clump back hard in late winter. Female plants carry the best plumes.
