How to care: Full sun and free-draining soil. Drought tolerant once established and fast growing. Cut back hard after flowering, even to a low framework, since it flowers on new wood and becomes leggy and awkward if left alone. The stems and leaf stalks carry thorns, so wear gloves. Protect young plants from hard frost, which can kill growth back to the base.
