How to care: Full sun is essential; in shade the black foliage turns muddy green and flowering drops away. Well-drained soil and moderate water once established. Naturally more compact than the older varieties, so it suits a smaller garden or a large container. Prune lightly in late winter. Avoid heavy nitrogen feeding, which pushes leaf at the expense of flower.
