How to care

At least six hours of direct sun, in rich, well-drained soil with good airflow between plants. Water deeply at the base rather than over the foliage, which spreads blackspot and mildew. Feed in early spring and again after the first flush. Prune hard in late winter, removing dead, damaged, and crossing stems and cutting to an outward-facing bud. Deadhead through the season to keep flowering going, and mulch annually.
