How to care

Full sun to light shade in well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established, though it flowers more freely with occasional deep watering. Prune hard in late winter to keep it compact, since it becomes sprawling and bare at the base if never cut. Can be trained against a wall, allowed to mound as a shrub, or clipped as an informal hedge. Frost damages growth but it usually reshoots.
