Silvery-white stems and small grey leaves, topped with pale blue flowers over an unusually long season. Mediterranean to its core, and one of the best silver-foliage shrubs for a dry Lebanese garden.

How to care: Full sun and sharply drained soil, including poor stony ground. Very drought tolerant once established. Trim in early spring and lightly after the main flush to keep it compact, since it becomes open and woody if left unpruned. Avoid cutting into bare old wood. Tolerates coastal exposure well and combines naturally with lavender, rosemary, and cistus.
