Evergreen Shrubs
Buddhist Pine
Podocarpus macrophyllus
بودوكاربس
Not a true pine but a podocarpus, with narrow dark evergreen leaves on stiffly upright growth. Takes clipping better than almost any other evergreen, which makes it the go-to plant for tall narrow hedges and topiary.

- How to care
- Full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil. Moderately drought tolerant once established, though it prefers consistent moisture. Slow growing and extremely tolerant of shearing, so it can be maintained as a formal hedge, a screen, or a clipped column for decades. Trim in spring and again in late summer. Also performs well as a large container plant in bright shade.
