How to care

Full sun to partial shade in well-drained soil, tolerating salt air and drought once established. Water moderately. Prune to shape at any time of year; it responds well and can be kept low as a groundcover form or grown up as a barrier hedge. Wear heavy gloves, since the thorns are substantial. The fruit is edible when fully ripe, though the milky sap is not.
