Radish

Raphanus sativus

فجل

The fastest crop in the vegetable garden and the one to hand children first, because something is ready to pull within a month. Sown in succession every two weeks, radishes fill the gaps between slower crops without ever competing with them.

Fruiting and harvest
Ready to harvest 25 to 40 days from sowing
How to care
Sow direct into loose, stone free soil in sun or light shade, about 1cm deep and 3cm apart, and thin early so the roots have room to swell. Consistent moisture is everything: irregular watering makes radishes woody and unpleasantly hot. Harvest as soon as they size up, since leaving them in the ground past their peak splits them. Sow in spring and again in autumn, and skip the hottest weeks of summer when they run to seed.

Available in seedling tray. Exact pot size and plant height are confirmed when we reply to your order.
