Prostrate Rosemary
Rosmarinus officinalis 'Prostratus'
إكليل الجبل الزاحف
The creeping form of culinary rosemary, cascading over walls and terrace edges with the same aromatic needles and blue winter flowers. Useful, evergreen, drought-proof, and edible.
- Blooming season
- Winter to spring; intermittent
- Flower colour
- Blue
- How to care
- Full sun and sharply drained soil; wet feet in winter are the usual cause of death. Water sparingly once established. Trim after flowering to keep it dense, but never cut back into old bare wood, which will not regrow. Excellent spilling from a raised bed, a wall top, or a large container. Harvest sprigs at any time for the kitchen.
