Remarkably narrow for its height, with gracefully drooping branches turned up at the tips. Where you want a tall conifer but have almost no width to give it, this is usually the answer.

How to care: Full sun to light shade, in well-drained soil; more tolerant of alkaline ground and urban conditions than most spruces, which suits Lebanese limestone soils. Water through establishment and in drought. The narrow habit is natural and needs no pruning to maintain. Remove only damaged wood, and stake young plants on windy sites until rooted.
