A tall, stately forest conifer with silver-banded needles and a strongly upright habit. A tree for altitude and for space, better suited to Lebanese mountain properties than to the coast.

Flower colour: Non-showy
How to care: Cool, moist, well-drained soil and shelter from drying wind. Needs the humidity and winter cold of higher altitude, and performs poorly in hot dry positions. Water consistently through establishment and in dry summers. Mulch to keep the root zone cool and moist. Minimal pruning, restricted to removing dead lower branches as the tree matures.
