How to care: Full sun is required for the colour to develop; shade turns it green. Well-drained soil, moderate consistent watering, and shelter from harsh drying wind. Keep it clear of overhanging trees, since crowding causes needle loss on the shaded side. Prune only to remove damage, never shearing the outline, and protect the leader.
