How to care

Bright light, including direct sun, in a very free-draining gritty compost. Water thoroughly then allow the soil to dry completely before watering again; overwatering is the only common way to kill it. Water very sparingly in winter. Feed lightly in the growing season. Prune to shape at any time, and stems root easily as cuttings. Red-edged leaves indicate happy sun exposure, not stress.
