Beaked Yucca
Yucca rostrata
يوكا روستراتا
A near-perfect sphere of fine blue-grey leaves atop a slowly thickening trunk, ageing into one of the most elegant architectural plants available. Cold hardier than most yuccas, so it works at altitude.

- Late spring
- Flower colour
- White
- How to care
- Full sun and sharply drained soil; wet winter ground is the main risk. Exceptionally drought tolerant and needs no summer irrigation once established. Very slow growing, so buy the size you want. The leaf tips are sharp but not vicious. Remove dead lower leaves to reveal the trunk, or leave them as a natural skirt. Avoid heavy feeding and heavy mulch against the trunk.
